Book review: Blue Shadows Fall
I was fortunate enough to receive an advance review copy of Blue Shadows Fall by Lenore Stutznegger, which is available for pre-order right now.
Stutznegger creates an idyllic spot amid a frightening unknown outside world in Haven, one of those rare post-apocalypse communities you'd really want to live in. It locks you in from the start and makes sure you really care about the community and the fates of the people who live there. Far from just being a small-town slice-of-life story though, reminders of the brutality of the outside world keep creeping in and propel the story along. As the mysteries pile up and start to unfold, Blue Shadows Fall gets harder and harder to put down.
I'll definitely be ordering a paperback copy once they're available. When my daughter is old enough to start reading YA adventures, I bet she'll love it.
